Sherri L. Vogler, President of Houston Medical Testing Services, Inc., is licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. HMTS began operation in September 1989 for the primary business purpose of providing quality specimen collections for drug testing to those organizations regulated by federally mandated programs. Since that time HMTS has expanded its services to include all the components of federally mandated programs as well as programs specifically tailored to the needs of non-mandated private companies. HMTS based its philosophy of providing superior and personalized service on the training its owner received at the Baylor College of Medicine while conducting research studies for pharmaceutical companies. These studies required compliance with very stringent and precise Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulations which included Chain-of-Custody for specimen collection.

The Corporate philosophy of HMTS encompasses the sensitivity, serious nature and potential repercussions of drug and alcohol testing at a level which far exceeds the practices generally followed in this field today. HMTS' standards, policies and procedures are those set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (DHHS/SAMHSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) and are adhered to by HMTS for all its clients, whether they are federally regulated or have initiated drug testing on their own. All HMTS staff members, as well as the personnel located at clinics used as collection sites, are trained in and committed to this high standard of excellence. HMTS participates in continuing education programs designed to keep our entire staff current on changing Federal regulations. In addition, we assist employers in the education of their work force on the dangers of drugs in the workplace and successful integration of employee's back into the workplace following rehabilitation.

HMTS is a woman-owned business certified by multiple certifying agencies in the State of Texas. HMTS is an active member of the Houston Business Council, an organization whose activities are designed to enhance relationships between women and minority owned businesses and larger corporate members. HMTS is also a member of the Houston Drug-Free Business Initiative, an organization with a mission to educate companies on the impact and cost of drugs in the workplace. In addition, HMTS is the ONLY accredited member in the Houston area, of the Drug & Alcohol Testing Industry Association, the national industry trade organization, having passed a rigorous certification program, which strives to uphold the highest level of standards in education, training, and collection procedures.

HMTS has expanded its services over the years to include nationwide on-site drug and alcohol testing services. HMTS is committed to providing the same standard of excellence in national on-site services as provided to our clients in the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast Region. HMTS currently services many Fortune 500 clients across the United States, from Alaska to New Jersey to Louisiana, representing over 65,000 employees and hundreds of employers. Not only does HMTS provide national on-site drug and alcohol testing services, but also provides mobile collections and education/training programs to its clients which need employee education to comply with federal regulations.
